Day 1 : Arrival in Leh (Altitude: 3,500m) | Riding Distance: 0 km
Welcome to the mesmerizing town of Leh, the capital of Ladakh! Today is dedicated to acclimatizing to the high altitude. Take this opportunity to explore Leh’s vibrant bazaars, visit the ancient Leh Palace, or simply relax and soak in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Prepare yourself for the adventure of a lifetime as this is just the beginning!
Day 2 : Leh Local Sightseeing | Riding Distance: 50 km
Today, we’ll dive into Leh’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. Visit the iconic Shanti Stupa, offering panoramic views of the town and the Indus Valley. Explore the magnificent Thiksey Monastery, often called “Mini Potala” for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, and the beautiful Shey Palace, the former summer capital of Ladakh. After an enriching day of sightseeing, return to Leh and prepare for tomorrow’s ride to Kargil.
Day 3 : Leh to Kargil (Altitude: 2,676m) | Riding Distance: 210 km
The adventure truly begins as we head towards Kargil, riding alongside the majestic Indus River. En route, stop at the Magnetic Hill, a natural wonder, and the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Nimmu. Visit the historic Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and the war memorial in Drass, known as the second coldest inhabited place on earth. Known as the “Moonland” of Ladakh, Lamayuru’s surreal terrain resembles the surface of the moon. The ride is a thrilling mix of winding roads and stunning vistas, making it one of the most memorable sections of the journey.
